On To State
Jan 31st
I am incredibly proud of the Sheboygan South High Varsity Dance Team! They had one week to re-do both of their dance routines due to an injury before traveling to Oshkosh for regionals on Saturday. They took 4th in Pom and 2nd in Hip Hop, sending them to State next weekend in both categories.
We have a hard group of talented students at South High School that work hard and have dedication to achieve in life. We got some amazing coaches who put in some long hours day after day. Congratulations to Coach Carlee Reinemann and the girls! Good luck at State.

New Study Hall Policy
Jan 19th
Beginning Second Semester at Sheboygan South High School, there will be a new Study Hall policy for students wishing to use the Library during their Study Hall. Students will report directly to their Study Hall for attendance. A limit of five students per Study Hall will be able to come to the Library from a specific Study Hall each day.
Students will sign a Library hall pass in their Study Hall and report directly to the Library from their Study Hall. Students will sign into the Library and leave their student ID at the desk. All students will need to have their student ID to use the Library during their Study Hall.
In addition to the five students allowed to come from your Study Hall, students can also obtain a pass from one of their classroom teachers who has given a research assignment. These students will report to their Study Hall for attendance and then report to the Library for the entire hour. On Monday, January 25th, Study Hall teachers will inform students in their Study Halls of this new process. Students who currently do not have and ID and wish to use the Library should stop in the Activity Office to get a new one made.
Anyone with questions, should contact a Library staff member.

Disappointments with Administration

However, in the recent year or two, the Administration at South High has not been as open and loose with the students and their ideas of having “fun”. It is apparent that the “no grinding is allowed at school dances” is to be brought up. While this is still a school setting and not everyone may approve of the way a certain generation dances, is this “rule” necessary? The answer is no. Read the rest of this entry »
